McDonald’s fans fuming over decision to secretly remove hugely popular menu item

While one burger makes its debut, another has fallen

Sure, it might be a little too hot but the sun’s shining and everyone’s mood seems to be so much better this weekend.

Well, except for some McDonald’s fans who have been left fuming over a recent revelation.

While making your plans for a night out tonight (21 June), you’ll of course have the big event at the end to look forward to: the scran.

But you might need to rethink your order as Maccies have kind of, well, secretly removed a hugely popular item from the menu.

Yep, while the Big Arch might have made its debut this week and the Cheesy McCrispy has made a return, it seems one popular item has been axed from restaurants across the UK and Ireland.

Even if you try and search it on the fast food chain’s site you’ll get the pretty morbid response: “Sorry it’s gone, but not forgotten.”

The item in question?

Sorry if I'm about to ruin your night out but it's R.I.P the Triple Cheeseburger. Ouch.

Made up of three British and Irish beef patties, the fallen soldier was stacked with onions, pickles, ketchup, mustard and cheese in a soft, toasted bun.

McDonald’s even confirmed the axing of the burger that’s been on its menu since 2020, as a spokesperson told The Sun: “We're always evolving our menu with our customers in mind to keep things fresh and exciting.”

So, I guess you’re just going to have to suck it up and ride the wave of things being ‘fresh and exciting’ without the Triple Cheeseburger.

But it doesn’t mean you can’t have a good old moan about it first.

One user even wrote on X: “I won’t live in a world where there’s no McDonlad’s triple cheeseburger.”

“[Mcdonald’s] getting rid of the Triple Cheeseburger is the biggest joke of the year.

I'm already angry they didn't do the Creme Egg McFlurry this year with no explanation, then they took the Grimace Milkshakes away, now a mainstay for years like a triple cheeseburger?!” another slammed.

A third angry fan said: “McDonalds getting rid of the Triple Cheeseburger in the UK may be the worst news I've had all week.”

A fourth reminisced: “God I loved McDonald’s Triple Cheeseburger!”

Others even threatened to ‘boycott’ Maccies until it returns to the menu as another simply responded: “Games gone.”

Although, some have been so impressed with the new Big Arch they say they can ‘forgive’ McDonald’s for ‘binning the Triple Cheeseburger.'

Well, I really guess you don’t know what you had until it’s gone.
