If you're counting your pennies after Christmas but still fancy a few beers with your pals, Wetherspoons has got you covered in this cost of living crisis.

The UK pub chain are slashing its prices at more than 800 of its boozers in January, so Brits can keep that merry mood rolling and grab a pint for just £1.99.

But it's not on for long - so make sure you clear your diaries between 2 January and 17 January if your local Spoons is in England or Wales, while those in Scotland can get the round in on the cheap between 3 January and 17 January.

Wetherspoons is following suit with the shops and is having a sale throughout the first month of 2024 - although you should double check what discounts you're getting at your pub, as each venue prices their drinks differently.

The average sale prices across all Spoons establishments include a pint of Bud Light or Doom Bar for £1.99 and classic cocktails - such as espresso martinis, strawberry daiquiris and margaritas - for just £2.99.

A bottle of Beck's Blue will only set you back £1.49, a Pepsi Max (14oz) will cost you £1.49 and their selection of hot beverages, Lavazza coffee, tea and hot chocolate which come with free refills, are just £1.29.

Certain spirits are also involved in the sale too, such as AU vodka and Sidemen XIX Vodka.

You can also enjoy a saving when you're lining your stomach too, as Wetherspoons are treating customers to a small breakfast, brimming with bacon, sausage, fried egg, baked beans and toast, for just £1.99.

If you're there a bit later in the day, you can also enjoy a selection of burgers for a reduced price, which falls to £4.99 with a soft drink and £6.46 with an alcoholic drink. A bloody bargain.

Wetherspoons founder and chairman Tim Martin said: "Department stores and shops hold their sales in January, so it is the perfect time to have a sale in the pubs too.

"The range of drinks and food on sale in the pubs is aimed at suiting a wide variety of tastes. This year we have included our biggest selection of low and non-alcoholic drinks."

Take a look at this list of tipples that are part of the Wetherspoons sale:

  • Bud Light
  • Doom Bar
  • Worthington’s
  • Stowford Press Apple Cider
  • Budweiser
  • AU vodka (four flavours)
