A man has shared his remarkable transformation after taking Melanotan 2.
A lot of us love getting a tan, either on holiday while dozing on the beach or back home in the garden.
Some like getting help to enhance their golden brown complexion, with tanning salons throughout the country continuing to thrive despite the known health risks.
But tanning beds are legal in the UK, at least, unlike Melanotan 2, an artificial substance that darkens the skin.
Advert
As defined by Cancer Research UK: "Melanotan II is an artificial substance.
"It stimulates the pigment cells in your skin to produce more melanin, and this makes the skin look darker.

"Melanotan is made in different forms, including as a nasal spray and as an injection, sometimes called ‘tan jab’ or ‘tanning injections’."
Now one social media user has shared his insane transformation after using the substance.
Reddit user shares his Melanotan II transformation
Reddit user u/Majestic_Assist1501 took to the r/melanotan2 page to share how the substance made his skin tone look unrecognisable in a before-and-after pair of pictures.
The first image of the user, a topless selfie in a bathroom which shows of his upper body, shows a bald man with a pale but slightly reddening complexion.
The second image, seemingly taken in the same bathroom, depicts the man but with much more tanned skin, with the black tattoo on his right chest hardly standing out any longer.

In the comments, Majestic_Assist1501 shared that he also uses a tanning bed two-four times a week while revealing how much Melanotan II he was taking.
"Currently 400mcg a day but I slowly tapered up from 100mcg a day to what I’m on now over the course of a couple months," he wrote.
"I tan about 2-4 times a week in a stand up tanning bed for 10 mins each time and in the sun for at least an hour a day sometimes more if I’m swimming or playing sports."
Is Melanotan II safe?
Melanotan injections are illegal to sell and supply in the United Kingdom and are not deemed safe for consumption.
Cancer Research UK advises: "Melanotan nasal sprays and injections are not safe to use.
"Melanotan products have not been tested for safety, quality or effectiveness. So it is not known if using them causes side effects and how serious they are.
"Also, Melanotan products could have harmful chemicals in them that aren’t listed on the label.
"If you have used Melanotan, you should stop. Talk to your GP if you have shared needles with someone or if you have any concerns about side effects."
