It's not even Christmas, and next year's predictions for the most popular baby names are already out.
Ever since Kim K and Kanye called their kids North, Saint, Chicago and Psalm, it's felt like nothing is off the cards. But when celebs point towards spiritual and personal reasons for picking such unconventional monikers, it's pretty hard to argue against them.
2026, however, is shaping up to be a big year for *trying to be politically correct* 'familiar' names from the past.
Given that the 'old money' look is back in fashion, baby names are also following this sort of 'vintage' trend from 2025.

"A classic, old-fashioned baby name that was popular in decades past may strike the perfect balance between modern sensibilities and time-honoured traditions," What to Expect explained.
"Vintage baby names may not be right for everyone, but it's good to know which ones are making a comeback."
Sienna and Jude

According to My 1st Years, Jude is apparently a popular choice due to the song 'Hey Jude' and the announcement of the Beatles biopic. Perhaps parents are also inspired by England and Real Madrid star Jude Bellingham.
And then there's Sienna, which could be due to all sorts of reasons; from Sienna Miller's recent pregnancy announcement to other celebs like Love Island’s Olivia Bowen naming her child after the Italian city Siena.
Weirdly enough, Jude Law and Sienna Miller got engaged in 2004, but split just two years later following Law's affair with his children's nanny.
“We’ve seen a huge swing towards shorter names this year, particularly names which can’t be shortened – and Jude is a great choice for this,” Molly Ejdowski, a spokesperson for My 1st Years, said.
“While it’s slightly longer with three syllables, Sienna ticks a lot of boxes because it has both modern and timeless qualities, it’s difficult to shorten, and it’s a pretty, Italian-inspired choice.”
Bonnie, Matilda and Margot

More celebrity-inspired names have come from the likes of The Big Bang Theory star Kaley Cuoco and Tom Pelphrey, choosing to name their daughter Matilda in 2023.
As I'm sure you guessed, Margot is a nod to Barbie actor Margot Robbie, and Bonnie is thought to be a vintage name with Scottish roots.
Maybe Bonnie Blue has had something to do with it, too?
Feyre, Lucien, Isabel, Jeremiah and Elphie

My 1st Years predicts that the names inspired by characters from romantic fantasy book series A Court of Thorns and Roses are set to be a hit.
Lucien, meanwhile, could be from Emily in Paris' Lucien Laviscount’s return for season 5.
Isabel and Jeremiah are derived from the teen drama The Summer I Turned Pretty, while Elphie is the shortened version of Wicked’s Elphaba, played recently by Cynthia Erivo.
Freddie and Lily
Freddie and Lily are popular names, with the latter topping My 1st Years’ list for 2025.
They expect it to remain a common choice for next year.
