Brand new names in list as most popular baby names of 2025 revealed

Some monikers have made their debut this year, while others have returned after years away

In 2025, baby names have become more inventive than ever - so there's a few unusual ones that have made the top 100 for this year.

Olivia, Amelia, Noah and Liam have topped the charts once again, while a host of ‘traditional’ monikers have also rose the ranks.

But a lot of parents want their child to stand out from the crowd on the class register, so a lot of quirky ones have been popular this year too.

There's been a change in trend for the girls especially, as the list features a number of names which have never managed to breach the top 100 before.

Some have also made a comeback after years away, according to Babycentre.

Examples of newbies include Eloise, which made its debut in the top 100 and came in at number 75.

After 12 months off, Sarah rejoined the ranks at number 84, while Emersyn made its first appearance in the list and snuck in at number 89.

Another rookie is Sienna, which made the number 92 spot, while Charlie bagged number 93 after last appearing in the top 100 in 2021.

Catalina made an entrance into the list at number 95, while the 'vintage' name Josephine wrangled the number 96 spot for the first time this century.

Juniper came in at number 97, marking it's first appearance in the list, as did Oaklynn, which made number 98 in the line up of most popular names.

For the first time since 1934, Vivian made the list at number 99, while Kehlani also made it's debut at number 100.

The top 100 lads names weren't as revolutionary this year, however, there were still some new introductions.

Making its debut at number 91 was Malachi, while Arthur made a return to the list at number 95 for the first time since 1970.

The name Ali made its first appearance and ranked at number 95, followed by the return of Nathaniel after nearly a decade off, which came in at number 98.

Meanwhile, the previously popular names Hunter, Axel, Greyson and Max didn't make the cut this year.
