Various visitors to one of the world's most popular swingers and nudist resorts have explained what exactly goes on behind the scenes.
We live in an age where people are getting very comfortable talking about their bedroom business online and it seems as if far more folks than you might realise participate in what is traditionally known as 'the lifestyle'.
There have been plenty of different variations of it and new sex trends are always emerging, whether it's the 'hotwifing' movement, which some are saying is 'saving their relationship', or just some good old-fashioned swinging.
In the past, swingers may have had to seek out other like-minded folks in the depths of the internet or just by some subtle signs in public but now there are all sorts of ways to get involved, whether it be spicy cruises, swingathon festivals or in this case, a swingers resort.
One couple said they loved their time at the resort (Getty Stock Image) The Desire Riviera Maya Resort, set on the beautiful beaches of Mexico's Caribbean, offers visitors a wide range of activities and luxuries, including naked beachfronts, an 'orgy garden' and pleasure rooms with provocative entertainment.
One couple on YouTube recently visited the five-star resort and were clearly impressed with what they saw, suggesting that the holiday destination is 'the future of what the lifestyle should be all about'.
They also waxed lyrical about the impressive bathrooms and naked areas on offer, although personally I'm more bothered about a good swimming pool and ping pong table when I'm holidaying abroad.
Someone else who visited the resort has opened up about the experience, with her playroom experience proving to be particularly eye-opening.
"I wasn’t sure what I was looking at since it was so dark, but as my eyes adjusted, I saw everything. At least five couples were in there, just going at it," she wrote in Maxim.
"One woman was getting railed from behind. A dude was going down on his wife. Another couple was going the slow and sensual route and grinding at a glacial pace."
It does look lovely to be fair (Desire Resorts) She also made friends with a couple in their 60s and saw up a man's behind first thing in the morning, while other couples were going at it in the pool, which is perhaps enough to put anyone off their breakfast.
However, it's clear that the resort isn't for everyone, even if you approach it with a very open mind.
One TripAdvisor review explained how it might be strange for a first-timer.
It read: "What was a tough adjustment is that this place is sexual 24/7 and this is not for everyone. I had a hard time with the orgies in the hot tub and the constant seduction for the swingers everywhere even though there is truly no pressure... but that also converts to... oh, if you are not 'into the lifestyle' then you are an outsider.
"The quote 'playroom' is also a weird experience.... people all having sex in this room with porno playing on TV's. I probably will not be back but that is no fault of the resort. I just warn people to know exactly what they are getting into.... best of luck."
I think I'll have to pass on this one.
