A woman was in disbelief at discovering the hidden sexual meaning of the tattoo on her arm.
Clothing brand owner Brittany Lewin went viral in 2021 when she found out that the pineapple on her forearm is a common signal in the swinger community.
The content creator from the US posted a video on TikTok (@b_brittanylewin), where she explained that she had no idea of the meaning of her seemingly innocent tattoo.
In the clip, Brittany pointed out that when she puts her arm up, the vibrant fruit looks like an 'upside down' pineapple.

"When you realise you've made a mistake," was her caption to the clip.
The video starts with a a screenshot of a text conversation where her friend says: "It's still going to make me giggle, I only just found out what an upside-down pineapple means."

To which Brittany replied: "Wait what? Googling right now."
What does an upside down pineapple mean?
According to Urban Dictionary, an upside down pineapple generally 'represents hospitality and welcoming'.
However, it adds: "A pineapple is placed on a porch or mail box by swingers to signify that a swinger party is going on.
"A pineapple is turned upside down when a person is in search of a swinger party.

"Originally it was turned upside down in the individuals shopping cart.
"But pineapple popularity has made it accepts on clothes and other items.
"Swingers use this symbol to identify each other in public."
Oops
It wasn't just her pal who spotted the blunder, some of her 50,000 followers did too.
Commenting on the post, one person wrote: "I’ve thought this every video I’ve seen of you. I just thought 'each to their own'."
"I always thought you and your partner were just into some extra fun stuff. I'm sad that you didn't actually know," another added.
"Well you wouldn't win either way. Even if you put it the right way up, when you put your arm back down from behind it'd still be upside down," someone else reminded her.
She's not the only one to come to the realisation that the pineapple has another meaning.
TikTok user Linda also revealed in 2021 that she and her hubby had bought matching swimming costumes for a trip away, complete with pineapple patterns.
She explained that they were a bit confused as to why people were being 'a little too nice' during their holiday.
