In a world of endless red flags and icks, it seems as if something as seemingly innocent as kissing someone on the forehead has now gained a worrying new meaning.
Thankfully, my days of scrolling the dating apps are well over and given the ridiculous trends that seem to setting in with the youth of today, I'm very thankful for that.
In recent months alone, we've seen the Bob the Builder relationship trend, which sees folks invite dates over simply to get something fixed in their flat or house, while 'mankeeping' is said to be putting women off dating altogether.
Don't get me started on some of the weird and wonderful sex trends you see at the moment, with it more common than ever to see couples speak openly about their swinging habits, or even going on a TV show and showing their crown jewels to the world there.

But while the things we often see online can be vulgar or downright weird, the act of kissing a partner on their forehead has always been a sign of comfort and kindness, as far as I'm aware at least.
However, some Gen Z folks who are finding it hard to find love are suggesting that the simple act might have recently taken on a far less wholesome meaning.

Apparently, instead of making the recipient feel safe and warm inside, they're actually provoking feelings of despair, as it could suggest that a casual hook-up or short-lived relationship may soon be over, as it's likely to result in a 'ghosting'.
Madi Schnepfe spoke to Dazed about her experience with the 'forehead kiss of doom' saying: "He kissed me on the forehead, at that point I just knew I was never going to see him again."

After the ill-fated incident, she added: "Within two days, we never spoke again."
Another young woman, Madeleine Sims, described it as 'the kiss of death' after she also lost herself a lover after a little kiss on the noggin.
She added: "It's a really weird cultural indicator of what is happening in the dating scene right now."

So lads and ladies, it's best to avoid any forehead kisses until you're already 100 per cent comfortable in each other's company and you know that you've found the one, otherwise you might just give off the wrong impression.

Luckily babies and young kids are none the wiser about any of this as the last thing you'd need is a baby crying even more than usual because they think you're not coming back.
