Relationship expert says there are three main signs that someone is going to cheat on you

It could be bad news if all of these come out of nowhere

Infidelity - it's existed since the dawn of civilisation, has been the inspiration for some of the biggest pop songs and even changed the course of history.

So it should go without saying that cheating on a partner is a pretty big deal.

It also shouldn't come as a surprise that there's a wealth of resources generated by concerned spouses on the topic, including the careers which cheaters are most likely to choose, body language analysis and even private investigators weighing in on it.

So what are the signs you should be on the lookout for?

One person to weigh in on the topic is relationship therapist Kimberly Moffit - who creates content on TikTok under the handle of @ask_kimberly - who revealed the three most obvious signs of infidelity she's noticed from working with clients.

"I have seen hundreds of clients who have gotten cheated on so I know exactly what to look for," she said at the beginning of the clip.

Improving physical appearance

Referring to this one as a partner becoming a 'peacock' Kimberly explains that a person looking to stray may will out of the blue a renewed interest in their physical appearance.

"So all of a sudden, they start going to the gym, or wearing cologne, or buying new underwear for themselves," she explained.

"The reason why cheaters do this is because essentially, they're back on the market."

She continued: "So that's why physical appearance is literally one of the first things that people notice when their partner's cheating.

"It's like, they didn't care at all, they weren't putting any effort in and now all of a sudden, they're super concerned with how they look."

Phone guarding

Even people with nothing to hide will shudder at the thought of someone being able to easily access their phone, but apparently it's also one of the 'prominent' signs that a partner may be cheating.

"When someone is cheating their phone is literally their lifeline," Kimberley said.

"If they're cheating on you, there's almost a 100 percent chance they are texting and exchanging DMs with this person and the phone houses all of that evidence.

"And they know like the minute you get your hands on that phone or see something on their phone, it's over."

Time

While less obvious of the three, having time to cheat without being caught is important.

Kimberley goes on to claim that 'travelling for work' is one of the biggest ways she sees a cheater hide their extramarital affairs.

"Travelling for work is the biggest way that cheaters accomplish this time and space, whether they're actually travelling for work or pretending to travel for work," she said.

"And when they're travelling and you ask them how their day was they're gonna give you some big, long lengthy explanation about how their day was and what they did.

"They do this to placate you. They want to overload you with information so that you'll stop asking questions."
