A TikTok user known as the 'pineapple hunter' has shared how you can find swingers on board most cruise ships.
People from the community have spoken about their various habits on not just spicy cruises, but regular ones, in order to identify themselves to others who may want to 'play' on board.
Not everyone thinks this way, though, with some couples thinking you should keep swinger activities on cruises intended for that purpose, instead of seeking each other out on family cruises.
But free will is a thing, so some swingers will do as they please and knock on doors with symbols such as the iconic pineapple if they're in the mood for some action.

It's even called 'pineapple hunting' by some social media accounts, but why is the fruit such a big symbol of the swinging community?

People on TikTok have been made aware of the 'upside down pineapple' trend, with certain people in polyamorous relationships sticking these shapes on their doors on cruise ships as a sign of their lifestyle to others.
Nobody knows where it's come from, but those looking for spicy extramarital affairs will be sure to look out for this or signs like this or a black ring to spot other swingers in areas like a restaurant or bar on board.
The universal symbol makes intentions clear, but how many people actually knock?

User @kelseyoulater made a follow-up post about 'pineapple hunting' on cruises, claiming that people really do go looking for stickers.
"So the upside-down pineapple on a door is more of an indication kind of thing, typically you would meet them beforehand, say near the hot tub is a popular spot or in the bar and then it's like you've agreed to go back to their room," she explained.

Kelsey went on: "Those corridors, as you can see, everything looks the same, and so it's a lot easy to have an identifier like hey, you've definitely reached the right place when we agreed to already meet."
Apparently, some will even write their details and slip it under the door if they agreed to meet in public elsewhere.
"It's not just a case of you see it and you knock," she highlighted.
While many call them stickers, Kelsey revealed: "The whole ship is made of metal so everything's magnetic and they are magnets."

So it looks like the upside-down pineapple isn't an invitation for people to come in and 'play', but instead an indicator to other like-minded people about being in the right place.
It's not just pineapples being used on board, with many guests using their own unique magnets to stand out and decorate their doors the way they want.
People have put other magnets on indicating their birthday, while some guests even put whiteboards on their doors to see what passerbys might be willing to put on.
