Inside 'Nando's Box' which was given to passengers on UK flights

The 'Nandos Box' was very cheeky indeed

It's not always possible to get a decent scran on a plane.

You're 30,000 feet up in the air and you're stuck to choose between a ham and cheese toastie and a... ham and cheese toastie.

And if you want to add on a drink and snack, you're looking at a tenner for something that usually costs £3.50 in a supermarket.

However, back in 2019, one airline decided to be very 'cheeky' indeed when it collaborated with a nation-favourite restaurant chain.

Jet2 were the first UK airline to offer up a dish from Nando's on its in-flight menu and it was a great alternative from your... ham and cheese toastie.

The Leeds-based airline introduced two different options from Nando's' Peri-Peri Flight Bites range.

The first product was a dip and dunk 'Nando's Box', which included houmous, Peri-Peri drizzle and salted pitta chips.

And the second snack was Nando's Half-popped Corn, described as 'a mild and delicious snacking option where fluffy popcorn meets crunchy corn'.

A spokesperson for Jet2.com said at the time: "To give customers even more reason to feel sky-high with excitement this summer, Nando's vouchers can also be found in selected Nando's boxes onboard, entitling one person to a free Nando's meal.

"The new in-flight menu is Jet2.com's biggest and best yet, with a number of new additions to give customers more choice and variety than ever.

"Following the introduction of its first ever in-flight vegan meal earlier this year, the warming and hearty penne arrabbiata pasta dish, the company has added the vegan and gluten free 'Gnaw' chocolate bar, with Nando's Half-popped Corn also suitable for vegans."

Steve Heapy, CEO of Jet2.com and Jet2holidays, added: "The addition of these two fantastic snacking options give our customers even more great choice than ever, and mean that we are the first UK airline to offer Nando's products on our in-flight menu.

"We have already made a number of exciting changes to our menu this year, and we are sure this brand new menu will delight customers even more.

"We pride ourselves on delivering the very best customer service in every area, which was recognised at the recent TripAdvisor Travellers' Choice awards for airlines where we won five awards, and we can't wait for our customers to try the exciting choice on this new menu."

Sadly, according to the menu on Jet2's website, these dishes are no longer a thing.

And to be clear, I do love a ham and cheese toastie, so I apologise for the hostility.
