Rules of 'spicy cruise' where couples can swap partners and interact in 'play rooms'

It's a cruise for adults only

A married couple, who regularly take to TikTok to explain how their swinging lifestyle works, have opened up on their time on board an adults-only 'spicy cruise'. And it's a holiday that comes with very particular rules that guests must follow.

At risk of sounding too obvious, these kind of cruise holidays aren't your bog standard ones. In fact, they couldn't get much different.

They are put together by holiday companies with a sole focus of organising cruises for swingers.

It gives people who are of that lifestyle the chance to safely and openly explore their personal desires, where swapping partners is very much on the cards if you want to explore that.

TikTokers Bella and Jase, who run their @4ourplay.com account on the social media platform, have opened up about their trips on board 'spicy cruises' after going on their third on as a married couple.

They went on their most recent one, via Temptation Cruises, in March.

The holiday company says it offers 'the most exhilarating party vacation of your life'. Expect a whole load of pineapple images that act as a secret code that only those who know will understand.

But as with most holidays, there are specific rules and some are definitely catered to what you might expect to see or find on board.

So, what are the rules of the 'spicy cruise'?

Dress appropriately

The first rule Temptation flags is that pools and the beach are parts of the trip where bikini tops are optional, so expect people to go nude.

But it adds: "For the comfort of all guests, we ask that you use the appropriate attire in all other public areas, including dining facilities."

Photography

There are specific rules around photography too. Temptation explains that 'some guests may want to keep their identities private'.

"Due to the unique concept of our resort, we ask that when taking photos and / or video, you only do selfies and close-ups for personal use, no wide angles," the holiday provider says.

Respect is key

Guests told to keep noise down when in hotel corridors after midnight. Temptation jokes: "We don’t want to have to give anyone a time-out!"

Drugs

While the company notes that it has 'created open-minded atmosphere', there's a ban on drugs.

Staff and guest relationships

There's also a strict ban on staff having an 'intimate' relationship with a guest or even having a drink with them. Doing so would result in instant dismissal.

"In order for all guests to fully enjoy their Temptation experience, we ask you to respect the playground rules," Temptation Cruises says.

Keep it private

One last big rule is that explicit activities between guests are not allowed in any of the public areas of the ship.

The next Temptation Cruises holiday sets sail in February 2025 and starts from $193 per person, per night. That includes an unlimited bar, according to its website.

You have to be 21 or over to go on the cruise due to the USA's laws on drinking alcohol.
