Santander has free £150 giveaway to millions of Brits who hit four key criteria

Even if you're just starting out in life, it's worth a look.

UK customers of Santander can pocket a neat £150 by signing up for one particular policy, it's been revealed.

No matter what working age you are, the experience of human life can be boiled down into many things, but one of those things is unfortunately: fragile.

So even if you've only just joined the so-called 'rat race' - not all jobs feel like such a thing, it has to be said - it's worth considering life insurance cover, to protect your loved ones.

Bear with us, but upon your death or a terminal illness diagnosis, these precious policies usually pay out lump sums to aid your family with daily costs and even debts.

That way, they can at least remain financially stable amidst the emotional turmoil.

It's far from a win-win situation, but there's a certain acceptance of responsibility behind taking one of these policies out, especially the older you get.

So why not make a chunk of change for yourself in the process?

Santander UK's website sells it like this: "Life insurance doesn't need to be expensive. The younger and healthier you are, the lower cost of a life insurance policy will be.

"The golden rule is that you have someone in your life who relies on your income, then you should think about having some form of life insurance.

"Here's some examples of the most common life changes that make people think about taking out life insurance or reviewing their existing level of cover..."

The four key criteria are: buying a house, having children, changing jobs and getting married.

So if any of those apply to you, there's reason enough to get life insurance cover today.

New Santander life insurance customers are eligible to receive £100 cashback when they take out a policy, while existing Santander mortgage/private banking customers can get their hands on £150.

"We'll pay cashback once per customer," the site reads. "For qualifying joint life protection policies we'll pay it to the first named policyholder.

"This offer can be withdrawn at any time. Cashback is paid 280 days after the policy has been taken out, as long as it hasn't been cancelled."

As if that wasn't enough of a draw to join the money-holding chain, Santander (as well as NatWest, First Direct and Barclays) also gifts a couple hundred pounds to any customer that switches banks to them.

With the 'Santander Edge' offer, you'll get £180 in free cash and a £30 Amazon voucher, amounting to £210 in rewards.

There's a monthly fee of £3 for this account but their own cashback scheme gives you a tenner off monthly bills.

You must pay in £1,500 to get your free money, alongside setting up two direct debits, with the cash arriving in your account within 90 days.
