Mirela Lapanovic is a contestant in the Serbian reality show Couples. Picture Big Brother crossed with Married at First Sight, filmed in Belgrade, and you've got the idea.

But her husband, Andrej Laharnar, was shocked when he saw his wife have sex with another contestant. Andrej is claiming that Mirela was drugged and the relationship with Milutin Radosavljevic Milija wasn't consensual.

According to The Mirror, Laharnar says the production team encouraged the scene to boost viewer numbers. He says: "If only they showed her the footage, she would be shocked and she would realise she was abused.

"The production is not allowing the contestants or the audience to talk about the terrible incident."

But Andrej also claims that the contestants have been pressured into pretending that the sex scene was simulated for the cameras.

Couples puts complete strangers together before they go through wedding ceremonies. Their task is to see how long they can last as a newlywed couple. And they say the sanctity of marriage is falling apart.

The Serbian show is no stranger to controversy. Last year, viewers were shocked when they saw a husband attack his wife.

As the contestants were gathered around a table, Nenad Marinkovic-Gastoz focused his anger on his wife, Zorica Dukic, after she tried to intervene in an argument. What happened next was nothing short of shocking.

He grabbed her face, tried to stop her breathing and held her in a headlock. He threw her against a wall and, according to the Daily Mail, he shouted: "You are my girl! I will talk for you! Shut up, I said shut up."

The other contestants could see the whole incident unfold on TV screens. One believed that the fight was orchestrated for the cameras to keep viewers interested.
