Why Alan Sugar Should Be The Next Prime Minister

Why Alan Sugar Should Be The Next Prime Minister

He's what this country needs.

The time has come for us to stop wasting time in electing people who are actual politicians. We're all sick of experts, anyway, aren't we?

So, here's why we should take a tip from our American cousins and have the fella off The Apprentice running the country. Yes, I'm suggesting that none other than Lord Alan Sugar himself, steps up and runs in the next general election. Yes, he's in the House of Lords so there would need to be a way around that but I'm thinking out loud here.

Can you imagine his dad banter at Prime Minister Question Time?

It can be a bit boring at times, can't it? PMQT. What it needs is some banter. And banter is absolutely Lord Sugar's forte.

You wouldn't catch him saying he grabs women by the p***y but he will quite happily say things like: 'if you nod your head any longer I'm going to put you on the back seat of my bloody car' or 'as times have changed you seem to have gone from anchor to wanker'. We need this.

He's brutal

He likes to pull people up. "You say in your CV: 'I'm a lion, I'm going to be a roaring success'. Well, I don't know about that, based on today's performance it's been more a whimper from a kitten'. He will then look around, to see who's laughing (everyone is laughing, so he doesn't sack them. Even Claude).

So, can you imagine how this would transfer into real-life politics? Trying to wheedle out of something you've done Mr MP? Well, good luck.

He is brilliant on Twitter

I can only assume he's a very busy man. He runs about 50 businesses now, doesn't he? That's all since having to invest in the best least worst idea on The Apprentice every year, and he's got to film the bloody thing, too. Plus, he's got his own business to run.

But he still finds time in his busy day to go in on Piers Morgan.

He's like a granddad shouting at the telly, and for this, I love him.

It also shows, that he has good time-management skills. This is a necessity for a PM.

He's good with money

Unlike Trump, who is just obsessed with going bankrupt, Lord Sugar has no such skeletons in his closet. He came from nothing; he will remind everyone of this on a near-weekly basis. He didn't go to university; he's a self-made man, OK?

He's blunt AF

'The leader of the opposition would like to point out that...'

'Shut up. We've heard enough from you.'

Sadly, it looks like he's already counted himself out. Damn.

I mean, he's already a Lord, so would it be that big of an effort for him to swap for the House of Commons? Come on, Alan, your country needs you.
