Fans of Addison Rae have been left confused after the influencer reported that she'd been banned from TikTok. So what actually happened?

With more than 85-million followers, Addison Rae is currently the third most-followed person on TikTok, just behind Khaby Lame and Charli D'Amelio.

Rae is also a professional dancer and actress and she recently starred in her first film - He's All That on Netflix.

On 15th October, Rae tweeted: "Well time to get a job," along with a screenshot of her TikTok account with a message from the social media platform saying: "Your account was permanently banned due to multiple guidelines of our Community Guidelines."

However, Addison Rae's account is still active on the social media platform, leading many to question what's actually happened.

Addison Rae's TikTok account is still active as of 15th October 2021, so either she hasn't been banned or she has, but successfully appealed and TikTok has removed the ban.

A TikTok account is usually banned due to a repeated violation of the app's community guidelines. When TikTok permanently bans an account, that user will receive a banner notification next time they open the app to say their account has been banned.

TikTok says that users who have been told they're banned can appeal it. To do that they need to tap 'Appeal' on the notification banner and follow the instructions.
