Andrew Tate has made quite the name for himself in recent months. Have a look at him in action here:

The 35-year-old millionaire and lifestyle guru seems to have a controversial opinion on anything and everything - just last week, he claimed that English were the 'most violent people' in the world.

He regularly posts videos of him either at his home in Romania or driving one of his many supercars or working out in the gym, along with some sort of motivational quote like 'one day or day one, you decide' or 'fear only limits progress'.

But while his rise to viral fame has confused many, it will have surprised no one more than those who remember him as a contestant on Big Brother back in 2016.

Andrew Tate was a contestant on Big Brother back in 2016.
Channel 5

The former kickboxer made quite an impression on his fellow housemates, with more than his fair share of fall outs during his appearance.

But unfortunately for him, Tate lasted just a week before he was given the boot by producers.

His exit came after a video was released by The Sun, which appeared to show him striking a woman with a belt in a bedroom.

In the short clip that was shared by the publication, Tate can be seen swearing at the woman, before appearing to smack her with a belt.

At one point, he even threatens to 'f**king kill her' if she messages other men.

Tate was told to leave the house shortly after the paper sent the video to Big Brother producers.

A spokesperson for Channel 5 told the publication at the time: "Channel 5 and the producers reached the view that Andrew's position as a housemate had become untenable after a video was brought to our attention by The Sun."

However, following his exit, Tate hit back at the reports, saying the footage was edited to make it look more sinister than it was.

He claimed that it was totally consensual and that you can hear the woman laughing in the full version of the video.

"This tape is a kinky sex video and we’re acting out a role play," said Tate.

"A longer version of the video shows us laughing and I’m hitting myself saying, 'It doesn’t hurt'.

"I’m still friends with her and she’s in the UK with me now. I would never hit a woman."

Rumours circulated at the time that he may have been removed because of some offensive tweets he had posted in the past.

However, Tate claimed he was given the boot because of his game plan to wind his fellow housemates up until they snapped.

"I think Big Brother is using this to get me out of the house as they’re scared for the other contestants' safety," he said.

"They told me that if housemates hit me that I can’t hit back and have to wait for security, but I told them no way. I’m a calm person, but I’d defend myself.

"I also didn’t write any racist tweets and I couldn’t find them on my social media. My dad’s black so that doesn’t stand up!"
