Drying your clothes in winter is no easy feat, but an expert has found a surprisingly affordable solution to the problem.

A household gadget with thousands of rave reviews will apparently cut your clothes drying time by 'almost half'. In a TikTok video by Which, the consumer website conducts an experiment to prove that clothes will dry faster if placed beside a specific household gadget.

In the clip, Which tests two identical sets of washing on clothes horses against each other, placing one beside a dehumidifier and one without. The load of clothing next to the dehumidifier dried in 'almost half the time' according to the company with two litres of moisture in the dehumidifier's tank.

In the comments section, people shared their experiences of using the same technique in winter.

While Which? didn't name a specific dehumidifer, there's one model which is receiving rave reviews - and it's currently on offer as part of Amazon's Black Friday sale.

Why is the BANRIN dehumidifier so popular?

With a 2.2 litre tank, the bestselling BANRIN dehumidifier is designed to tackle high humidity areas in the home and in turn, will reduce the risk of mould, damp, and water damage.

According to the Chinese tech company, the dehumidifier can reduce humidity to below 45% and will work best when doors and windows are closed. When the tank is full, it will automatically turn off and omit a red light to alert you so there's no need to worry about overspill.

You shouldn't even notice it's in the room either, as the dehumidifier operates quietly in sleep mode with seven soothing colours to choose from so it can double up as a bedroom light if you like.

Customers are happy with the product too. One five-star review reads: "I love this little thing! It's so pretty looking with the coloured LED lights (which you can customise to stay on a single colour or to not be on at all) and it definitely pulls water out of the air. I have it running in my tiny apartment's living room. Best of all, it's so easy to empty and clean."

Another agreed, as they wrote, "Quiet, efficient, and versatile dehumidifier. The 2,200ml capacity works perfectly for medium-sized rooms. In my case, it handles the moisture in our bedroom, which tends to get humid, especially after showers or during rainy days. One feature I didn’t expect to use as much but ended up loving is the LED light. It adds a soft glow to the room, which acts as a gentle nightlight, making it ideal for bedrooms or bathrooms."

Where to buy the dehumidifier on sale this winter

The dehumidifier is now on offer as part of Amazon’s massive Black Friday sale. Reduced from £75.99 to £67.99, it’s sure to sell fast in the countdown to winter, with the sale set to end on Monday December 2 at 11.59pm.
