Looking Back On Piers Morgan's Most Savage Moments

Looking Back On Piers Morgan's Most Savage Moments

The birthday boy loves a rant or Twitter feud!

Newspaper and TV journalist Piers Morgan has turned 51 today!

He's a divisive character for sure, whether it's his views on feminism and more specifically protesters, Donald Trump or a person who makes her mate pay for her child's shoes, you can't say that he's not an interesting character. And he's made morning TV on ITV watchable again, unlike Adrian Chiles.

Last year, for the big five-zero, he threw a massive Great Gatsby themed party, which was attended by Gary Lineker, Bear Grylls, Holly Willoughby, Myleene Klass, Raymond Blanc, Susanna Reid and Emily Maitlis, among others.

But as well as friends he also has enemies.

Lord Sugar absolutely demolished Piers in a speech, saying he is a "more feminine version of Katie Hopkins."

He also said: "Piers has all the right requirements for a journalist: morals so low he could milk a snake, as reliable as a Greek pension and loves scoops - judging by his waistline, especially the chocolate and vanilla ones."

And he did this your mum joke...

The GMB host has had an impressive career: he became the youngest national newspaper editor in more than half a century when he was appointed editor at News of the World at 29-years-old. Since then he's worked at the Daily Mirror, Mail Online, CNN, NBC, BBC, Channel 4, and ITV.

With a CV that extensive he's certainly seen some things and made a few enemies.

One of the most high profile feuds was with former Top Gear presenter Jeremy Clarkson. It started in 2003 when Clarkson reportedly poured a glass of water on him during the last flight of the Concorde plane. It escalated a year later when the car lover reportedly punched Morgan three times because of the Mirror's coverage of his private life.

Piers sums up the exchange here:

Some of his TV guests are not immune from calling him out. US talk show host Chelsea Handler didn't shy away when she came onto his CNN program:

Like his friend, President Donald Trump, the birthday boy is no stranger to Twitter fights, and he's had some crackers over the years.

The TV host played tit for tat when Trainspotting actor Ewan McGregor cancelled his appearance on ITV's Good Morning Britain recently.

Chrissy Teigen took Piers Morgan to town after he called Friends actor Jennifer Aniston a hypocrite.

But by far my favourite is Piers Morgan's bitter, long-standing battle with Harry Potter author J K Rowling.

It all started when the best selling author criticised Piers for defending US President Donald Trump's immigration ban.

And kept rolling on.

Piers has also come under fire for calling out Emma Watson, Emily Ratajkowski and Kim Kardashian for being anti-feminists, Muhammad Ali for being inflammatory, Beyoncé for using Black Panther imagery at the Super Bowl, Gary Lineker (who was at last year's party) and CNN host Larry King for criticising him, Robin Van Persie for transferring from Arsenal to Manchester United (good choice), Alec Baldwin over public broadcasting....

I could go on and on about all the feuds Piers has had on Twitter but you'd be here for days!

So here's to you Piers, Happy Birthday! Let's hope the next 51 years are filled with as many fights online!
