Sleep expert says there’s only two positions you should lie in if you want to be healthy

He called them 'magic'

A sleep expert has said there’s only two positions you should lie in if you want to be healthy.

The expert, known as Levitex on TikTok, took to the platform to share with his 650.8k followers exactly why they should bin off their go-to sleeping position and switch it up to two particular ones that will keep you 'better supported'.

So, if you find you've got the backache of a pensioner in your 30s - or 20s for that matter - you may want to stay tuned.

The sleep expert explained why there's 'only two' sleeping positions he recommends.

In the video, he began by explaining: "These are the only two sleeping positions I'll ever recommend, of course, unless you have some sort of clinical reason for lying on your stomach, which is very rare."

The first position is the well-known, but not so popular, 'The Soldier'.

The sleep expert continued: "If you're lying on your back, your spine is immediately supported by the mattress and you've got the most even distribution of body weight.

"If you pop a pillow underneath the knees, you'll find that you slightly tilt your pelvis and more of your back is now touching the bed."

According to the mattress maestro, this in turn makes your body 'better supported'.

The second and last sleeping position the expert will 'ever recommend' is 'laying on your side' also known as, 'The Dreamer'.

"Clinical evidence dictates that you put the least amount of tension through your side in the sideline position," he went on.

Mapping out some key points of this sleeping position, the expert noted: "You want your ears, your shoulders, your hips, your knees, your ankles all stacked on top of each other.

"If you pop a pillow between your knees and ankles, then you're going to de-weight that top leg and keep it better supported."

He captioned the clip: "Do you sleep in one of the magic two sleeping positions?"

The short video has since gone viral after clocking up more than 2.5 million views with over 62.1k likes and hundreds upon hundreds of comments from people eager to share their views on the news.

Despite the sleep guru's advice, an overwhelming amount of people revealed they had difficulty dozing off on their back over fears of 'sleep paralysis'.

One TikTok user penned: "I'm terrified I'm gonna get sleep paralysis if I do sleep on my back because I've got a history of it but it doesn't happen when I'm on my stomach."

Another echoed: "Sleep paralysis said no to sleeping on my back."

Others had different theories about back sleeping with one claiming: "But you're guaranteed bad dreams if you sleep on your back."

"The sleep demon comes when I lie on my back," joked a second.

A third added: "Back equals snoring."

"Unfortunately," declared a fourth, "I'm not a psychopath so I can't sleep like that."

Some, however, clearly weren't at all fussed by the entire thing with a final TikTok user hitting out: "I'm alive, it's fine mate."

What do you make of it?
