The 'Ecoegg' Laundry Egg Could Save You A Load Of Money

Egg-cellent news

If you are the sort of person who gets wildly excited by the prospect of saving money on their laundry - who isn't? - then pin your ears back for this. Allow me to introduce you to the Ecoegg Laundry Egg.

'What on earth is that?' I hear you ask. Well, it's an environmentally sound alternative to costly washing powder that could see you washing your clothes for three years for only £20.

It cleans your dirty clothes without soap, and is also hypoallergenic, phosphate free and non-toxic. How about that?

So in summary, the age of detergent is over. This new product allows you to do 210 washes with one egg. Bizarre, but useful.

It's available on Amazon from as little as £7.99, and it currently has been awarded more than 1,000 five-star reviews. Come on, 1,000 people can't all be idiots, can they?

Don't answer that.

The Ecoegg contains white and black pellets, one made of ceramics and one made of minerals. Over time, the white mineral pellets dissolve away and need to be replaced. You can get a whole heap of washing done before then, mind.

On their Instagram page, the Ecoegg folks said: "Simply pop the Ecoegg Laundry Egg into your washing machine - it replaces laundry detergent and fabric conditioner. Two types of mineral pellets in the egg work together to clean your clothes. Free from harsh chemicals. Kind to your skin. Kind to the environment. Kind to your pocket.

"Two types of natural mineral pellets, inside a recyclable egg (that we guarantee for 10 years). Pop the ecoegg Laundry Egg in your washing machine - it's a complete replacement for laundry detergent and fabric conditioner.

"The egg is refillable - you can buy the refill mineral pellets from our website."

While that doesn't exactly set the pulse racing, it is important. After all, we need the environment, don't we?

So, you simply fling the egg in with your load of washing and let it get on with its job. Once the pellets are about half their original size, you take them out and replace them. No more expensive fabric softener, either.

Even if this isn't the most exciting thing you've heard today, people are very impressed with it. One review said: "Eggcellent purchase. Washes really well and smells good. Does what it states. Early stages of using it but seems to be a great purchase. A bargain."

Another added: "Have now bought 4 eco eggs and given as presents, all have been very impressed by the eggs and have said they wish they had knew about them before.

"They save you a lot of money as well as the environment. Try for yourself, you have nothing to lose. Just one more thing, stains do need some help."

There you have it, don't say we never tell you anything worthwhile. However, I strongly recommend not giving these away as presents. Nobody wants to be that guy.
