KFC Is Now Delivering Via Drones In Australia

The fast-food giant is taking food delivery to new heights with Australia’s first on-demand drone delivery service.

KFC has announced they will offer flying drones to drop off orders at your doorstep so you can get your greasy fix as quick as possible.

The mega fast-food chain has taken flight while partnering with Wing in Queensland, providing Australia’s very first on-demand drone delivery service.

The service will be available to small households and workplaces in South East Queensland suburbs of Kingston, Logan Central, Slacks Creek, Underwood, and Woodridge.

The service will gradually expand to include other nearby locations as well.

Also, KFC drones can only carry up to 1.5 kilograms, so don’t order the dirty bird by the bucket tonne for your backyard barbecue shindig. Small gatherings only!

Chief Marketing Officer of KFC Australia Kristi Woolrych said via a press release: “Drone delivery is an amazing technology and something we see becoming more accessible in the future, so we’re thrilled to have partnered with Wing.

“It’s an interesting space to be in, and we’re excited to see what lies ahead.

"We’re looking to target customers that want convenience and the capabilities of this service truly showcase the future of delivery.”

She added: “Given the last 18 months, Australians have relied on delivery more and more, so it’s great to be making life easier for fans who want to get their hands on KFC in a flash.

"You know the future truly is here when you can get hot, fresh Kentucky Fried Chicken delivered by a drone from the click of a few buttons!”

Wing’s City Manager in Queensland Dave Ojiako-Pettit revealed he is excited about the unique partnership as it will enhance the customer experience while taking food delivery to new ‘heights’.

He said: “East Queensland. Wing made more than 100,000 deliveries to the Logan community in 2021, with many customers finding on-demand drone delivery especially useful as they stayed home, and relied on our contactless service to deliver the things they needed.”

As part of the pilot, KFC has also set up a kitchen under the name ‘cloud kitchen’, that will be preparing all of the meals set for flight, which reportedly could even have deliveries at your doorstep within a few minutes.

Just say buh-bye to those horrific UberEats wait times.

Whether you’re after some Hot & Spicy, Popcorn Chicken or a Zinger wrap, this ought to be finger-licking good.
