Australia Is Finally Getting McDonald's Szechuan Dipping Sauce

McDonald’s is finally bringing the incredibly hyped Szechuan sauce to Australia and we couldn’t be any more excited.

Aussies have been hard done by in the sauce department, with the unicorn of all sauces having never been released in Australia. 

Of course, everyone loves their Sweet and Sour, however, ever since that Rick and Morty episode where Rick goes to extreme lengths to try the sauce again there has been a craving implanted into the minds of all Macca's lovers. 

Thank the heavens because we won’t have to wait too much longer.

McDonald’s Australia has announced they will be bringing four special edition dipping sauces for a limited time from July 6-19.

The fast-food giant has announced two sauces ahead of time, Szechuan and the return of the fan favourite Cajun sauce.

It will signal the debut of the Szechuan Sauce in Australia - a blend of soy sauce, ginger, garlic and sesame oil, a combination that Rick Sanchez went to great lengths to find.

Meanwhile, the Cajun Sauce makes its return after first being released in 2020 as part of the BTS meal that sold out super quick.

The sweet yet tangy flavour was a blend of Dijon mustard, vinegar, honey and spices, and was the perfect accompaniment to the golden-crisp of a chicken nugget. 

There are two more sauces coming, however, we won’t know more about them until next month.

In saying that, it doesn’t even matter what they are as long as we can all get our hands on the infamous Szechuan Sauce before it’s gone. 

McDonald’s Marketing Director, Tim Kenward said: “We know how much Macca's fans love our Chicken McNuggets and sauces and we can't wait to release a limited stock of some of our highly requested sauces like Szechuan and Cajun sauces.”

Highly requested must be an understatement. 

We know these sauces aren’t going to be available long - but luckily Macca's is giving sauce lovers the chance to earn a ‘secret stash’ as part of a ‘Sauce Quest’.

Sauce Quest kicks off today (June 28) on Macca’s socials and will be a three-day digital hunt in order to claim your very own supply of the sauces before they even hit restaurants.

The quest started earlier today with the first clue stating: “Search for a SAUCY product from an iconic Australian brand that rhymes with Fudgy Juggler.”
