Kellogg's Has Started Selling Blue Waffles And Everyone Is Saying The Same Thing

Kellogg's Has Started Selling Blue Waffles And Everyone Is Saying The Same Thing

"Has nobody on the Kellogg's team ever been on the internet?"

Depending on when you grew up, there's a chance you will have been privy to all the weird and whacky things you could search on the internet.

You might have still been in school when things that were definitely NSFW would pop up on the screen and horrify you for years.

One of those things was the blue waffle. It's worth noting that it's not real (more on that later), but it's also something you probably shouldn't look up on Google unless you want to spoil your dinner.

It's an image and idea that has been perpetuated for years and years. Which is why it's bizarre that a company would want to release a food product that has any association with the viral sensation - regardless of how tenuous.

Kellogg's has released a new range of waffles with different colours and flavours. One of them happens to be 'Mermaid' waffles, which also just so happen to be coloured blue.

While it's off-blue, it's still, at its core, a blue waffle.

It didn't take long for people on social media to pick up on the new product and run an absolute mile with it.

One person on Twitter wrote: "I've been informed that this is a thing that exists and I have... so many questions. Has nobody on the Kellogg's team ever been on the internet? Do they not know what blue waffle is?"

Another added: "I just wanna know why nobody at any point in this process told the boss what blue waffle is."

A third said: "Does Kellogg's not have a single millennial or was it one troll who was like 'hey we should make a blue waffle!' and no one knew better."

Hilariously, as people posted photos of the product online, there were loads of users who missed the joke. Naturally, the people who were in on the gag encouraged the clueless ones to simply Google it and find out what all the fuss is.

Again, it's strongly advised you don't do that.

Despite nearly every kid knowing about the blue waffle, it's actually not rooted in any reality or fact.

It's hard to know where the origins of the meme came from however doctors have since come out to say that it's not a sexually transmitted disease that women can contract.

While the blue waffle isn't real in that sense, it's very real in the sense of a blue and raspberry waffle that you can sink your teeth into thanks to Kellogg's.
