Raw Meat 'Liver King' Responds To Joe Rogan's Accusations That He Takes Steroids

The ‘Liver King’ has responded to Joe Rogan’s claims that he’s using steroids.

Brian Johnson shot to internet fame for eating (you guessed it) liver.

On social media, the Liver King has cultivated a following for promoting his ‘ancestral living’ whereby he eats pure meats and partakes in a gruelling exercise routine.

He lives by the mantra of our early ancestors, that ‘ripping, tearing and chomping on raw animal flesh’ is essential for survival.

However, podcast host Joe Rogan, ever the one to pop his opinion into any topic known to man, made the claim that Johnson’s regime and lifestyle is all a ‘gimmick’.

He didn’t seem to be much of a fan when he made comments on his show in April, accusing Johnson of putting not so natural products in his body, in stark contrast to what the ‘Liver King’ promotes.

Rogan said: “No that’s a gimmick, that guy. He’s got an ass filled with steroids is what he got. That’s not a natural body. That guy is shooting all kinds of shit into his system to achieve that kind of physique.

“I don’t even know if there’s a benefit in eating raw meat. From what I’ve understood, talking to experts, there’s actually a lot gained from cooking because the protein becomes more bioavailable.”

However, in an interview with GQ, Johnson, 45, maintained that he eats a pound of raw liver every day, and understands the science behind it as he has a medical degree in biochemistry.

He also responded to Rogan’s in a fairly gracious manner, putting his business shoes on and saying he’d love to be on the podcast one day to talk about his ethos.

When referencing his apparent steroid use, he said he doesn’t ‘touch the stuff’ and added that he was ‘grateful to Joe Rogan’ for bringing him into ‘his ecosystem’.

The Liver King only joined social media last August and has since amassed more than a million followers on Instagram and two million followers on TikTok.

He’s attracted the interest of Logan Paul, who had him on his podcast in April, and Successsion's Nick Braun, who has asked for advice on buying blood.

The Liver King is also strictly against vegetables, preferring an animal’s testicles for his nutrients.

He told GQ: “Vegetables don’t have the raw material required to produce a healthy set of testicles.

“Testicles do have everything required to produce and support and strengthen them.”
