A man out drinking in London’s Mayfair was left reeling after he was charged just shy of £40 for two vodka lemonades.

TikTok user @yourboymoyo posted a clip in which he revealed he’d visited swish private members bar The Arts Club in Mayfair, where he initially enjoyed a free bar before having to fork out for his own drinks - leaving him reeling when he received the bill.

In the clip he said: “Someone call the feds. Someone call the police - I’ve been robbed. I want to report a robbery.

Safe to say, he wasn't impressed.

“I’ve complained about London being expensive before but this is a whole other level of Jinky Minky. This is a whole different level of discombobulation. This is the shambolic of shambolics. I even left it two days just for it to marinate in my brain so I can process what went on.” So it’s fair to say he didn’t take it well.

He then explained: “I got invited to Kehlani’s listening party in Mayfair. Mayfair, London.

He then explained: “I got invited to Kehlani’s listening party in Mayfair. Mayfair, London.

“Already from Monopoly, I know Mayfair is the most expensive. It was a free bar, I was enjoying my life. Free bar has ended now and now we have to start paying for drinks.

“I’m telling my boy, ‘lets just get vodka lemonade, it can’t be that expensive’. Normally, it’s like five or six pounds - seven pounds at most.

“Tell me why he showed me the card machine and I’m seeing nearly forty pounds? Forty pounds?”

At this point the clip cuts to a shot of the receipt, which shows the two drinks - plus service charge at 15 percent - totalling £39.10.

The bill cost almost £40.

Moyo went on to say that he questioned the price and even asked the barman to explain what ‘Kettle One’ was, to which he was told that was the brand of vodka.

But thankfully for the TikToker it wasn’t him who stumped up the cash.

He went on: “Without looking my boy tapped his card on it. I screamed. But inside I was celebrating. That vodka better have cured cancer. Forty pounds - are you mad?”

The clip has since gone viral, racking up more a million views and attracting plenty of comments.

One person wrote: “At first I was thinking he was overreacting but good Christ he wasn’t.”

Another joked: “I would’ve told them I’ve changed my mind plss. Shame is free.”

While someone else commented: “Who in his right mind will go drink in Mayfair as soon as the free drink is done I’m done.”

LADbible has contacted The Arts Club for comment.
