It's an unfortunate reality of the world we live in that not everyone has access to the medical care they need.

But for 1,000 blind people, at least, MrBeast was on hand to help them restore their sight, and the results were truly incredible. Jimmy Donaldson, AKA MrBeast, 24, began the amazing video by explaining that while blindness is permanent for some people, in a lot of cases, it can be cured by a simple procedure.

He explained in the video: "They can't see but we have all the technology to fix this."

A doctor then replied: "Half of all the blindness in the world is people who need a 10-minute surgery."

The philanthropic YouTuber then went on to explain exactly what happens in the brief but life-changing surgery.

He said: "If you're wondering how the surgery allows people to see again, it's because the lens in their eyes is so cloudy that they can't see through it.

"So the surgeon uses a tiny vacuum to suck up the clouded lens. And replace it with an artificial one. The surgery is that simple! They can see again."

The YouTuber drew attention to a simple surgery that can fix blindness.

This resulted in some truly incredible scenes as people had their sight restored in the video, with one recipient of the YouTuber's kindness looking down at his wrist to see his watch and explaining that he'd never been able to see it before.

Another man said, "I can see everybody's faces now," before he joked, "[They're] a little blurry with my tears coming out."

As you can imagine, the video went far from unnoticed on the social media platform, and despite being posted just 12 hours ago, it's already been viewed a staggering 20 million times.

One woman was left totally overwhelmed by the YouTuber's kindness.

Reacting to the viral video, one fan praised MrBeast - who is the most followed person on YouTube - writing: "Funny How Jimmy Is better than 99% politicians out there [sic]."

"He went from giving people stuff and crazy challenges to changing people's lives for the better. This is amazing," added a second.

"I myself have very bad eyesight and I really understand the people you helped," shared a third. "This is absolutely incredible and deserves a lot of respect."

"What an incredible person you are Jimmy, you deserve all this success," wrote a fourth, while a fifth added: "Hope you do more of these things for the world. Much appreciated!"
