An anti-vaxxer who destroyed dozens of vials containing the Covid vaccine also believes 'the Earth is flat and the sky is fake', it has been claimed.

Steven Brandenburg, from Wisconsin, was arrested for destroying 57 vials of the Moderna vaccine because he thought the pandemic was a hoax.

The authorities accused the 46-year-old of compromising 570 doses of the vaccine after twice removing them from a refrigerator at Advocate Aurora Health Systems in Grafton, where he worked the night shift.

It was alleged that the pharmacist knew this would ruin the doses and mean they could no longer be administered.

Brandenburg, who was arrested back in December, believes the vaccine is 'microchipped' and will 'turn off people's birth control and make others infertile', official documents state.

In an interview with the FBI, Brandenburg's colleague Sarah Sticker revealed that he told her on numerous occasions that he didn't believe coronavirus was real.

And in the FBI's warrant for Brandenburg's arrest, which was obtained by the Daily Beast, it shows that his conspiracy theories may have gone far beyond the pandemic.

During an interview, Ms Sticker told the FBI that 'Brandenburg was very engaged in conspiracy theories' and that he communicated them to her via text message.

The report reads: "Some of the conspiracy theories Brandenburg told Sticker about included: the Earth is flat; the sky is not real, rather it is a shield put up by the government to prevent individuals from seeing God; and judgement day is coming."

In divorce documents seen by media outlets, Brandenburg's wife Gretchen claimed he stored bulk food and guns in a number of different locations, believing the government was planning to attack the electrical grid computer networks. She said that she was so terrified that she and her children left town.

Brandenburg went on to confess to the authorities that he 'intentionally removed the Morderna Covid-19 vaccine box out of the pharmacy refrigerator on two occasions during two shifts - 24/25 December 2020 - but that he could not recall how long they were out for'.

He claimed it was a 'spontaneous act' and that he 'wasn't thinking straight due to what was going on in his life'.

However, when investigators asked how this could be a spontaneous act when Brandenburg did it two days in a row, Brandenburg did not have an answer.

He later explained to the authorities that he had a deep mistrust of the Moderna vaccine and that he believed it could harm people.

Investigators later received an email confession from Brandenburg's address, stating that he removed the vaccine from the fridge with the 'purpose of allowing the vaccine to be outside the temperature range so that it would not be effective'.

Adding: "My actions were inexcusable and I deeply apologise for the harm I have caused."

Brandenburg confessed to two counts of attempting to tamper with consumer products with reckless disregard.

He is due in court on 9 February and faces up to 10 years in prison and a $250,000 fine on each charge.
