An elderly couple who have been married for more than 60 years have been discharged from hospital after overcoming coronavirus.
Gillian England, 88, and husband Michael, 91, were finally allowed to leave Leicester Royal Infirmary on Friday (17 July), three weeks after being admitted with the deadly disease.
While at hospital one of the nurses revealed how Mr England would wake up early and get himself dressed before his therapist arrived, so that he could go and visit his wife. The couple would then have a cup of tea and hold hands.

They are now continuing to recover back at their home and have thanked the NHS for the care they both received while in hospital.
Speaking about their experience, Mr England said he and his wife were grateful for everything staff did for them.
He said: "I want to get better so I can look after my wife - first and foremost, I want to be there for Gillian.

"While I've been in hospital I've not really missed anything because Gillian is here and I have been able to see her every day.
"I am so grateful to all the staff who tried very hard to make sure we have been looked after on the same ward.
"Being discharged together, on the same day is even more special as we have been on our recovery journey together.
"The medical care is outstanding and I can't describe the kindness of the nursing staff who made our stay in hospital so comfortable.
"They have shown such compassion to myself and Gillian in so many ways and we have felt that kindness. Kindness goes such a long way."

Earlier this month, a 23-year-old man with coronavirus is sharing TikTok videos from his hospital bed to warn people about the importance of following safety measures.
Karim Salmen was born with a pulmonary condition called bronchiolitis obliterans, which causes inflammation in the lung's smallest airways, and also has pectus excavatum, which means his breastbone is sunken into his chest.
As such, he was quarantining due to his vulnerability, but on 9 July he fell ill and was struggling to breathe, and a few days later he tested positive for Covid-19.
Speaking to BuzzFeed, he said: "I threw up all night, and at times I felt like I couldn't breathe.

"I believe someone close to me exposed me to the virus, but I am not sure. I haven't left my house. I have been under quarantine for four months."
