JoJo Siwa Addresses Split From Girlfriend

JoJo Siwa has opened up about her break-up with ex-girlfriend Kylie Prew.

The entertainer, who is best known for starring in Dance Moms, had been dating her partner for nine months, but their relationship came to an end recently.

And speaking on the red carpet at the AMAs over the weekend, the 18-year-old said it had been a whirlwind romance, but that they were both still happy despite the split.

She told People: "I fell in love with somebody who I didn't ever expect to fall in love with.

"We met on a cruise ship, she was my best friend. And then we went to Disney together and all of a sudden, it kind of all happened."

She added: "It's been wild, it's been crazy. I was with my girlfriend for nine months, and those nine months were amazing and incredible.

"One thing that I'm grateful for is that we're both OK... we're obviously not as close as we used to be, but we're both OK, and we're both happy, and that's all that matters."

This isn't the first time she Siwa has discussed her and Prew's relationship.

After speculation that they had split, Siwa confirmed the news to Paris Hilton on her podcast This is Paris earlier this month.

"I have yet to talk about this officially, publicly, but we broke up," she said.

"But she is literally still my best friend. I talked to her yesterday, she just got a new puppy. She's awesome. She's having the time of her life, I'm having the time of my life."

She went on to explain that she was 'really lucky' because they had managed to stay friends.

She said: "I was very happy that it can be, because that's all I wanted.

"But I'm really happy that I remember all the fun times, all the good times, and nothing bad happened, it just is the definition of a cheesy saying of 'right person, wrong time' and I hate cheesy sayings, but they're true."

Siwa came out as gay earlier this year.

Following speculation, the teen shared a photo to Twitter of her wearing a t-shirt saying 'Best. Gay. Cousin. Ever.'

Fans then quickly piled into the comments to congratulate her for her brave post.

One person wrote: "YES JOJO I LOVE YOU!!! i'm so proud of you, all the love for you."

Another simply said: "We will always support you".

A third wrote: "If God hates gays, how come we keep on winning?"
