This Year Marks A Perfectly Rectangular February

If you have taken a quick glance at your calendar today, you may have noticed something pretty special about February, namely that it's rectangular.

This year is not a leap year, meaning there are only 28 days in the month, and while that means there a fewer days between you and pay day, it also means it looks aesthetically pleasing.

But why? I hear you cry. Well, due to the relatively few number of days in the month, it is the only one of the 12 that is divisible by seven and can, therefore, fit into a neat rectangle.

This can, however, only happen when the first day of the month lands on a Monday, which, this year, is does.

And people are incredibly - too much, in my opinion - excited about it.

Now, while this anomaly has taken the internet by storm, one thing should be pointed out, despite popular belief, this doesn't only occur ever 200 years - the last one was in 2010 and the next will be in 2027.

I hope that hasn't rained on your parade, but it's important to be accurate about these things.

If it has, fear not, there are plenty of other things to look forward to this month.

For example, it was recently announced that the seventh season of Brooklyn Nine-Nine is set to land on 6 February.

Melissa Fumero, who plays Amy Santiago in the hilarious sitcom, revealed that we'll get to feast our eyes on the latest instalment later this week.

NBC has revealed that the upcoming series will be 13 episodes long.

According to Deadline, the network's executives revealed the number of episodes ordered for the next season - sure, they may have said that there are 13 episodes at this point but the same thing happened with season six.

Thirteen episodes were confirmed, but the season turned out to have an additional five. Funnily enough, we didn't see anyone moaning about that little bonus.

Unfortunately the execs didn't confirm whether there was any chance of more episodes being added to season seven further down the line.

The new eps are much shorter than when the programme was aired on the Fox network, when the seasons varied between 22 and 23 episodes in length.
