Optical Illusion Of Sitting Women Leaves People Baffled

A user posted the picture on Reddit in the hopes of getting some answers, but it appears more questions followed

Reddit users have been left baffled by a resurfaced optical illusion that shows six women sitting on a sofa, and people just can't seem to get their heads around it.

Now, at first glance, it is difficult to notice anything unusual about the photograph. Five women are pictured relaxing in a pub-like establishment on a sofa, with a sixth woman perched on the right-hand side.

However, if you look closely, the photo poses a glaringly obvious problem – a pair of legs have gone missing.

A Reddit user shared the image online in the hopes that someone knew what was going on.

It wasn’t long before people flocked to the thread with their own questions and theories, as some believed the girl on the left had her legs over the girl to her right.

Others were equally confused, stating that the image simply ‘doesn’t add up’.

A pair of legs appear to be missing from the bizarre optical illusion.

One person asserted: "The first girl is sitting over the second girl’s legs."

Another person agreed, adding: "The second girl's legs are behind the first girl's legs."

Another user provided a very detailed theory, stating: "Number one has her legs crossed, no tear in the knee. Number two has only one leg visible, the tear is in her knee. Those legs are blending together. (Follow that tear down, there’s a split where there’s a sock on the right and not on the left. Number two has a tear in her knee and a visible white sock).”

One Reddit user focused in on the girl sitting second from the left, stating: "Her pants are the same colour, and almost blend. You can see the difference where there is a bit of sock/skin showing above the boot."

Last month, a different optical illusion gripped the internet, with the image said to depict a number of animals.

The post was shared to social media with a caption explaining that those who are right-brained will see a fish, those who are left-brained will see a mermaid.

However, the caption was of no help to those who saw completely different animals.

Most social media users agreed that the illustrated figure was more donkey/seal than fish/mermaid.

One user said: "I saw a donkey until I read some people see a seal now it is both. Top donkey bottom seal depending on where I look!"

Another added: "I see a donkey or a seal. I don’t see a mermaid or fish. What does that make me? Alien?"
