Peloton Is Pulling Chris Noth Advert Amid Sexual Assault Allegations Against Actor

The ad, which is a nod to Noth’s character in the Sex and the City sequel And Just Like That, has been removed from Peloton's social media

Peloton has pulled its recent ad featuring Sex and the City star Chris Noth from social media, amid sexual assault allegations made against the actor.

The commercial is a nod to Noth’s reprised role as John ‘Mr Big’ Prescott in the Sex and the City sequel And Just Like That..., in which his character suffered a fatal heart attack after a work-out on a Peloton bike.

In the ad, Noth and instructor Allegra (Jess King) are sitting on the sofa in front of a fire, as Noth turns to his companion and says: “To new beginnings."

King replies: “You look great.”

Noth then says: “Well, I feel great. Should we take another ride? Life’s too short not to.”

The camera then pans back to reveal a Peloton exercise bike, as Ryan Reynolds says in a voiceover: “And just like that… the world was reminded that regular cycling stimulates and improves your heart, lungs and circulation, reducing your risk of cardiovascular diseases.

"Cycling strengthens your heart, muscles, lowers resting pulse and reduces blood fat levels. He’s alive.”

The advert has since been removed from a number of Peloton’s social media accounts, following an article from The Hollywood Reporter earlier this week, in which two women accused Noth of sexual assault on two different occasions.

One of the women alleged that they were assaulted in Los Angeles in 2004, while the other claims her attack was in New York in 2015.

In a statement to Variety, a representative for Peloton said: “Every single sexual assault accusation must be taken seriously. We were unaware of these allegations when we featured Chris Noth in our response to HBO’s reboot.

“As we seek to learn more, we have stopped promoting this video and archived related social posts.”

According to BroBible, Reynolds has also deleted the video from his Twitter account.

Noth, meanwhile, has denied the allegations, claiming the encounters with both women was ‘consensual’.

In a statement supplied to THR, Noth said: “The accusations against me made by individuals I met years, even decades, ago are categorically false.

"These stories could’ve been from 30 years ago or 30 days ago - no always means no - that is a line I did not cross. The encounters were consensual.

“It’s difficult not to question the timing of these stories coming out. I don’t know for certain why they are surfacing now, but I do know this: I did not assault these women.”
