The Queen is reported to have her personal bullet-proof Range Rover to pick up grandson Harry and his wife Meghan as they arrive in the UK for the Platinum Jubilee celebrations.

Harry, Meghan and their kids Archie and Lillibet arrived in the UK yesterday, flying in by private jet where they were met by three of the Queen’s protection officers, according to the Sun.

The family then travelled from Farnborough Airport to Frogmore Cottage, Windsor in the bullet-proof cars.

An insider told the news outlet: “The Queen believed it was the right thing to do.”

The four-day long jubilee celebrations kicked off today, with the Trooping the Colour taking place this morning and the Queen making her first balcony appearance alongside her cousin the Duke of Kent – Colonel of the Scots Guards.

Thousands of people poured out to watch the event, which was overseen by the Queen.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex were among the guests who watched Trooping the Colour at Horse Guards, although they have yet to be publicly pictured.

They joined a host of royals including the Duchess of Cambridge and Duchess of Cornwall in the Duke of Wellington’s former office the parade ground - as well as Kate and William’s three children Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.

However, not everyone was there to celebrate and police arrested several protesters who entered the ceremonial route on The Mall before Trooping the Colour.

Pro-vegan climate and animal rights campaign group Animal Rebellion has claimed those involved are part of the organisation.

Speaking to the Metro about the stunt, activist Beau King Houston said: "The royal family has had decades to lead the way on a just transition to plant-based farming and has failed to do so. This transition is common sense and simple, we all win. 76 percent of currently farmed land could be rewilded and absorb carbon from the atmosphere. This would restore nature, spare billions of animals, and present a solution to the climate emergency, all in one act."

The Metropolitan Police said the arrests were for obstructing the highway.

The force said on Twitter: “A number of arrests have been made of people who attempted to enter the ceremonial route in The Mall at approximately 10.10hrs today.

“The arrests were public order related for highway obstruction.

“Thank you to the crowd who showed their support by clapping our officers who returned to their post after dealing with the incident swiftly.”
