Prince Harry made a chilling statement about his family during his bombshell interview with the BBC on Friday (2 May).

Harry has been back in court as he was embroiled in a legal challenge to have his taxpayer-funded security arrangements in the UK changed, which the court has ultimately dismissed.

When Harry stepped down from being a senior royal, the security he was previously entitled to in the UK changed, which the prince claimed put his family at risk.

But the court didn't buy it, and dismissed his appeal on Friday (2 May).

In the new interview which came in the wake of his loss, the prince spoke about the failed court appeal and how he feared he has become a greater risk.

Prince Harry has been vocal about his concern over his security status ever since his decision to step back from royal duties and leave the UK with his wife Meghan Markle, as they started their life in Canada, followed by the US, with children Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.

He spoke to the BBC about the need for security provisions to ensure the safety of his family, something that senior members of the Royal Family have.

What revelations did Prince Harry make in his bombshell BBC interview?

Fears of 'history repeating itself'

"I don't want history to repeat itself," he said of his downgraded taxpayer-funded protection for his family.

"Through the [court] process, I have discovered that some people want history to repeat itself."

He went on, claiming 'the other side' in the case won when it came to 'keeping me unsafe', as England's second-most senior judge dismissed his efforts to reinstate having police bodyguards when in the UK.

The prince claimed: "I’m sure that some people out there, probably most likely the people that wish me harm, consider this a huge win."

Prince Harry was speaking about the manner in which his mother died, when he was just 12 years old.

Princess Diana was killed in a fatal car crash alongside her partner Dodi Fayed and her driver Henri Paul in the early hours of 31 August, 1997.

She suffered fatal injuries when their Mercedes-Benz crashed into the Pont de l'Alma tunnel in Paris as it was trying to escape a swarm of paparazzi vehicles.

An inquest held in 2008 eventually concluded that the princess had been unlawfully killed as a result of 'grossly negligent driving' from Paul.

Harry says he's been 'singled out'

Prince Harry added that he believed the Royal Household 'imprisoned' members of the family by exploiting security, which would stop them 'from being able to choose a different life'.

The 40-year-old also added: "I've been treated differently to everybody else that exists, I have been singled out."

Harry no longer speaks to his dad, King Charles

As well as this, Harry claimed he no longer speaks to his father, King Charles III: "He won’t speak to me because of this security stuff."

Meghan and kids won't be coming to UK

"I can't see a world in which I would bring my wife and children back to the UK at this point," he admitted.

"It's really quite sad that I won't be able to show my children my homeland."

Chance of Royal Family reconciliation still on the cards

Calling life 'precious', the prince hopes that a 'reconciliation' is on the horizon for his family.

"There have been so many disagreements between myself and some of my family," he stated of the family, but admitted he had also forgiven them.

When asked if he asked his father to step in over the security issues, he admitted: "I never asked him to intervene - I asked him to step out of the way and let the experts do their jobs."
