The caption reads: "We are truly devastated by the passing of our brother Paul. There are no words to describe the deep sadness and loss we all feel.

The band - which formed back in 1998 - soared to fame with songs such as 'Bring It All back' and 'Reach' as well as 'S Club Party'.

Fans of S Club 7 have flocked to social media to commemorate Cattermole.

All On The Board wrote: "Rest in peace Paul Cattermole. May you fly with angels in paradise where nothing can hurt you. And the eternal light caresses your soul.

"So many of us had a dream come true when it was announced. The group would bring it all back and were reuniting to perform on stage; It's so sad that we now say goodbye to you at such a young age.

"Thank you for the music and the memories you gave. With your brothers and sisters in S Club 7.

"You will be forever loved, never forgotten and always missed, may forever love reach you up and above in your new home in heaven.

"Sending love and thoughts to Paul, his family, friends, brothers and sisters in S Club 7 and his fans."
