Expert issues terrifying warning as he claims Earth is facing a once-in-6,000 year mass extinction

Ben Davidson, founder of Space Weather News, explained how it'll happen

If you thought the world was going to continue its merry little spin for the rest of eternity without finding a way to kill us all, you’re fat out of luck.

A space weather expert has come along and popped our bubbles, warning that we’re in the middle of a catastrophic disaster that could wipe out 90 percent of us.

We’ve talked a lot about death recently, such as how your body would fare during a nuclear attack, how common tablets could increase your risk of death, or even just the various foods that slowly break us down over time.

While it’s a lot to take in, it’s nothing compared to what this storm could bring.

Ben Davidson, founder of Space Weather News has shared we could soon see a geomagnetic disaster, and there won’t be much of us left when it hits.

The expert told the Matt Beall Limitless podcast that a magnetic pole shift, which could be triggered by a solar 'micronova,' could see our green planet rocked by tsunamis, climate disasters and mass extinction.

The solar explosion could cause a pole shift, and Davidson says science supports his theory.

“This is a near extinction-level event, and we are in the middle of it right now!” Davidson said.

According to him, every 6,000 years, the world sees a solar explosion of varying magnitudes.

Then, a more severe one happens every 12,000 years.

“Everything we expect to see is unfolding now, confirming we're not just due for this event, it's happening, and it's a massive threat,” Davidson recently told the Daily Mail.

The last time one occurred was in 1959 and is known as the Carrington Event.

Scarily, even though it caused telegraph systems to malfunction, wires to cause fires and more, this time it could be detrimental to our survival.

Davidson said it could happen anywhere from 10 to 25 years and because of our weakening magnetic shield, it'll take less for it to significantly harm us.

If it does happen, it’ll ruin our power grids, stop water production, food growing and deliveries, GPS-driven agriculture, and emergency response.

“Within three days, there's no gasoline at the pump. There's no food at the store,” Davidson warned.

He explained that the Earth’s magnetic shield is weakening to natural changes in the molten iron currents within Earth's outer core.

The currents can then shift, causing the field to weaken further and the poles to move.

“The magnetic field is changing, the poles are moving, the magnetic field is weakening,” he said.

He added that climate wise, ‘everything we expect to see is unfolding now’ which shows it’s happening right now.

Scarily, a study conducted by the University of Bristol, blames our use of CO2 for the reason the world will go down the gutter.

The researchers found humans are likely to go extinct in 250 million years- a stretch if we stop our fossil fuel burning and greenhouse gas emissions, which researchers say need to stop now.

We’ve not had a mass extinction event since the dinosaurs were wiped out 66 million years ago, but if he's right, it looks like we might be having another soon.
