Snoop Dogg loves Coronation Street and wants a role on the UK soap

Snoop Dogg loves Coronation Street and wants a role on the UK soap

From the West Coast to Weatherfield

Well well well, look who's just strolled into the Rovers Return, it's none other than the Snoop Doggy Dizzle - or at least it could be.

The rap superstar has been bouncing around Britain lately, hanging out with David Beckham and bopping to bagpipes in Glasgow.

It turns out he loves it here, and he could be staying a lot longer if he gets offered a role in Coronation Street.

The pair are pals.

Speaking to The Sun, the 51-year-old said: "Coronation Street, I love it. If they call me I'll do it. I'll play whenever they need."

As for what exactly he likes so much about the soap opera, he said: "I love the cinematography, acting, the storylines and just the reality.

"I'd like to be part of it because they've been part of my culture."

That's right, Snoop Dogg apparently loves the cinematography on Corrie.

So who knows, maybe he'll make the move from West Coast to Weatherfield.

It might seem extremely unlikely, but the dude has appeared on screens across the world advertising just about anything and everything, so what's to say he won't roll up at the Rovers Return? I mean, if he does end up in a scene at the Rovers Return he will most definitely be rolling up.

I for one would very much like to see how the writers worked him into the story arc.

Snoop also opened up about his 'love and respect' for the royal family, which stems back to the '90s.

There were calls for him to be banned from the UK as he battled a murder charge - which was later dropped - and he credits the late Queen with fighting his corner.

He said: "When they tried to kick me out of England, the Queen made a comment that her grandbabies loved Snoop Doggy Dogg, and he had done no wrong in Britain, so she gave me permission to be here.

"Those grandbabies grew up to be Prince William and Harry, so I had influence on them and they had influence on their grandmother, which enabled me to get into this beautiful country.

"They love my music. There's mutual love and respect."

Be honest - before you read this article, did you have Snoop Dogg down as a massive fan of Corrie and the royals?

Funny old world, isn't it?
