Chris Eubank Jr was 'touch and go' in hospital after his points decision victory against Conor Benn, according to his father.
The 35-year-old said he spent two nights in the Royal London ward following his victory at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Saturday evening (26 April).
He claims he got head butted 'above my eye around the middle of the fight', as reported by Sky Sports.
Chris Sr said on his Call Chris YouTube channel: "I saw my son in a touch or go situation, life or death. He doesn't respect it because he's a warrior."
He added that his son's face looked like a 'blown up football' with his legs 'obtusely bent' in the hospital bed.
He said Eubank Jr's hospital admission reminded him of his win over Michael Watson in 1991, which left his opponent with life-changing brain injuries.
"It just brought me back all those years ago to think about what Michael went through, and I was feeling and seeing and hearing all of that," he said.
"And the only way we're going to know whether he's going to be OK is after the CT scans.
"He suffered mostly in the hospital because of dehydration, even though the beating was severe."
Well Eubank Jr has dismissed Benn's claim that he had suffered a broken jaw. Instead, the fighter said he had surgery on a damaged eye.
“When you get into a fight for 12 rounds, there are injuries that are sustained,” he told Sky Sports.
“I got headbutted above my eye around the middle of the fight. It opened up and I had to go and have surgery on that to sew it up.

“There’s no broken jaw here. We are strong. Our bones are dense.
“When you’re in a fight like that, you have to go to hospital. You have to get tested and looked after, but I’m feeling good and grateful that the fight was so well received.”
On a possible rematch with Benn, he said to 'watch this space'.
“Boxing is a very beautiful industry where anything can happen. The possibilities are endless,” he added.

One of the key storylines from the fight was the supposed idea that Eubank Sr and his son have been estranged for years.
It was said that the father wasn't happy with the match-up between his son and the son of his bitter 1990s rival Nigel Benn.
“A moment of a lifetime,” Eubank Sr said on his YouTube channel. “It looks like it has been orchestrated by a director.
“For me to push the door open and put one foot down and there is the world’s media. I chuckled.”
