Eye-watering amount of money England squad will receive if they win the Euros

It's coming home (this time)

If football does indeed *come home* the players will receive a hero's welcome and return with their pockets greased.

With some general discontent around the country at the moment, a Euro 2024 win would give England a much-needed boost for the summer, which feels like it hasn't even started yet.

And the squad itself would walk away with a hefty payday if they can overcome fellow European giants.

It seems France and Portugal pose as the biggest threats to England, but the competition, as always, will throw out a few surprise packages.

Serbia Vs England

England's first match will be against Serbia this evening (16 June), and the man wearing the armband says 'it is probably the most in-form squad we have had'.

“It is a fantastic squad,” Harry Kane told 5Live’s Football Daily podcast.

“I think it is hard to say if it is the most talented, we have had talented squads throughout the whole of England’s history.

“But I think what I would say about this one is that it is probably the most in-form squad we have had when you look at the players and the seasons they have had for their clubs, I think everyone is really ready.

“We have all had great seasons so time will tell, you have to turn club form into international form and that is what we will be looking to do and we have had a couple of weeks now to prepare with each other and we have got to go and show that.”

Euro 2024 prize money

If Kane and the lads can bring it home, the Euro 2024 winning squad could be awarded with a whopping €28.5 million (£24.13 million) plot among them, according to UEFA.

Each team will also receive €9.25 million (£7.83 million) for just participating and the prize money for winning will be 'allocated according to group stage results and performances in the knockout rounds'.

The amount will also depend on 'the number of players released to participating national teams, the number of days each player spends at the tournament and FIFA categorisation of clubs for training compensation'.

England's Euro 2024 group stage fixtures

Sunday, 16 June - Group C: Serbia vs England (Arena AufSchalke, Gelsenkirchen - kick-off 8pm BST)

Thursday, 20 June - Group C: Denmark vs England (Waldstadion, Frankfurt - kick-off 5pm BST)

Tuesday, 25 June - Group C: England vs Slovenia (RheinEnergieStadion, Cologne - kick-off 8pm BST)
