Thomas Tuchel has got his way after his complaints following England's victory over Croatia have directly resulted in a FIFA rule change.

England got their 2026 World Cup campaign off to a roaring start in Texas, defeating Croatia 4-2 in Dallas.

Captain Harry Kane was at the double, while second-half strikes from Jude Bellingham and Marcus Rashford secured the three points.

Thomas Tuchel had plenty to smile about after the game, but still couldn't hide his frustration over something that happened before it even kicked off.

As England's entire squad lined up around the centre circle to sing the national anthem ahead of the match, Tuchel was cut off from the rest of his team by a mass of photographers who crowded around the technical area.

Tuchel was visibly frustrated during the anthems, as he told the photographers they were too close, and his complaints continued after the final whistle blew as he begged FIFA to move them.

The German's complaints have bared fruit, as FIFA has now changed the rules to ensure the coaching staff aren't so isolated again.

The BBC reports FIFA have put a compromise in place after listening to feedback from a number of people, including the Three Lions boss.

Coaching staff will no longer be required to remain in front of their dugouts during the anthems, and will be allowed to move to either side of the photographers so they can see their players.

Photographers, meanwhile, can still be grouped in a huddle, but potentially further away from the dugouts and closer to the halfway line.

However, it is reported that the Football Association is still wanting to hold talks with FIFA on the issue.

What Thomas Tuchel said about photographers.

Speaking in his post-match press conference, Tuchel couldn't help but bring up how his experience was slightly 'ruined' due to being hemmed in by the wall of snappers.

"I have to tell you something. I'm begging FIFA to change the position of the photographers in the national anthem, because I could not see my team," the former Chelsea and Borussia Dortmund boss said.

"It was a very special moment, and I was standing in front of a wall of 50 photographers and I could not see one single player. It ruined a little bit my experience."

Tuchel will be hoping the new rules will be in effect when England take on Ghana in their next Group L match in Boston on Tuesday.
