Luke Littler has revealed the truth after posting a video announcing that he was 'stepping back' from darts.

The sports prodigy worried fans following his bombshell announcement yesterday (18 September), where he wrote that 'It's time' in the caption of a video, which ended with him placing his darts down.

It seems that the truth behind it all has nothing to do with Littler's career at all, and it's all to do with the highly anticipated release of FC26.

The football video game's annual release date is nearing (26 September) and while some may have guessed that the video was a stunt to promote FC26, many were surprised at the video he posted today (19 September) to announce his partnership with Xbox and the game itself.

Littler isn't the only big name to feature in the video on Instagram, with the likes of FIFA and FC gaming legend Bateson making an appearance, as well as streaming juggernaut Angryginge, real name Morgan Burtwistle.

Much like Littler, Angryginge hails from the Greater Manchester area, with both supporting Manchester United.

In the video, the trio can be seen with Shauna Games, another FC content creator, in a retirement home ahead of the release of FC26.

It's been released under the slogan of 'Take time to do the things you love', something most gamers out there can resonate with.

Have a look at the full video here:

The release of FC26 is a big one, with EA Sports announcing that its main focus in the past year or so was to build the game around fan feedback, following one of the more unpopular iterations of the franchise with FC25 last year.

A number of revolutionary new features are set to be introduced not just in gameplay, but within popular game modes such as Clubs and Ultimate Team this year.

From having two different play styles to choose from to a major overhaul on goalkeeping mechanics, there's a lot of reasons for fans of the franchise, old and new, to consider pre-ordering the game or purchasing it upon its release.
