Cameras caught a heated exchange between Lionel Messi and Jude Bellingham during tonight’s match.
The Three Lions took on Argentina in Atlanta tonight in a World Cup semi final that ended in heartbreak for England after they lost 2-1.
England took the lead just 10 minutes into the second half thanks to a goal from Anthony Gordon, but the celebrations were short lived with Enzo Fernandez getting an equaliser in the 85th minute.
It looked as though things could be headed towards half an hour of extra time or even penalties, but that wasn’t to be after Lautaro Martinez scored the winner in the 92nd minute.

But earlier on in the game, cameras caught a tense exchange between Messi and Bellingham after referee Ismail Elfath had given a foul.

The two men appeared to be caught in a heavy conversation but it appeared to be Bellingham who got the last word, as he walked off leaving Messi looked slightly stunned.
Messi then appeared to compose himself and could be seen firing Bellingham a snarky look and waving him off.
The moment didn’t go unnoticed by fans who took to X to try and get to the bottom of what was said.
“This is so satisfying! Jude Bellingham is giving a big mouthful to Messi,” one fan wrote.
Another said: “I’d love to know what Bellingham said to Messi.”
A third wrote: “Messi was left speechless.”

However, it was Messi and his side who got the last laugh after dumping England out of the competition and setting themselves up with a final against Spain at the weekend.
Speaking after the match, England captain Harry Kane admitted trying to hold on to a 1-0 lead backfired.
Speaking to BBC Sport, Kane said: “I’m gutted. I’m gutted for the boys, I’m gutted for everyone, the team, the staff, the fans. We played a good game for the large majority of it.
“Once we went 1-0 up we seemed to just try and hold on which at this level is just not enough, so I’m gutted.
“We worked so hard to be here. The lads have given every last bit of running, sweat, blood, tears, whatever it is, so to fall short like today is just gutting."
Kane said the message from England boss Thomas Tuchel had been to keep pushing after Gordon’s goal but admitted that they struggled to keep up the pressure.
“The boys were always ready for any moment in the game,” he continued.
“When we went ahead the messaging was to go again and get another goal. Once they scored their two goals it was to try and find something but we couldn’t find any momentum to get back in the game.”
Kane added: “We’ve had a lot of good moments in this tournament. We’ve had a lot of good games, another semi-final. We talk about knocking on the door. We’re close. We just need to find that missing piece.
“These tournaments take it out of you. There’s so much effort, pressure, mentality. We’ve shown a lot of that in the last six, seven weeks we’ve been together. We’re just missing that final piece.”
