Neymar Jr has just received a major windfall after an anonymous billionaire leaves him entire fortune.
For most of us, the idea of a benevolent benefactor deciding to transform our lives by leaving us a large some of money sounds like a story which is simply too good to be true.
But not when you're name is Neymar, as the 33-year-old footballer is now about to become a whole lot richer.
According to an extraordinary report from local outlet RIC, the Santos FC midfielder was named as the sole heir of an unnamed Brazilian billionaire in a will which was formalised back in June at an office in the city of Porto Alegre.

So, how much richer is Neymar about to become – and why did the man decide to leave his fortune to a wealthy footballer of all people?

RIC revealed the man had a fortune worth 6.2 billion Brazilian Reals, which equals around £846 million.
Which means the footballer is now a billionaire in his home country.
The businessman is said to have left the fortune to Neymar as he apparently 'identifies with [him] on a personal level'. It's also been reported the anonymous individual - who is believed to be childless and single - had deeply admired Neymar’s bond with his father, as reminded him of his own relationship.

The father-of-four is yet to comment publicly on his newfound windfall, which could become subject to legal disputes if approved.
Not that Neymar is in dire need of the money, given the fact that his current net worth is estimated to be somewhere in the region of $300 million (£223 million) to $330 million (£245 million).
The footballer recently moved back to his home country to play for his boyhood club of Santos FC, after a year playing in the Saudi Pro League.
Neymar spent his year in Saudi Arabia at Al-Hilal, playing in the same league as Cristiano Ronaldo and Sadio Mané.

He also made an eye-watering amount of money during his time in the Middle East, earning a whopping salary of £129.2 million a year for his services, which breaks down to £2.5 million every week.
Which is shocking, considering the fact that Neymar only scored one goal and played a meagre seven games.
Confirming his move back to Santos FC after struggling with numerous injuries, he called the club 'not just my team, it is my home, my roots, my history and my life'.
Now, if only more billionaires could start donating their wealth to the rest of us that would be great thanks.
