Wimbledon 2026 is a record year for the world's greatest tennis tournament with the prize money hitting an all-time high.
A massive £64.2 million is up for grabs - but it did not stop early protests over players feeling they were being paid their worth.
For years, leading players have pushed for increased prize money so that the athletes that make the game what it is get more of a share of the overall revenues at a grand slam tournament.
So whether the Australian Open, French Open, US Open, or Wimbledon, they want more cash in the pockets of sporting stars on the court.

The 2026 protests saw players restrict media time until a compromise was found after the first two days, with 'constructive' talks now in place moving forward.
Wimbledon's Final date and order of play
The Ladies' Singles final is on Saturday, 11 July and wont take place before 4pm. Saturday will also host the Gentlemen's Doubles Final; Ladies' Wheelchair Singles Final; and Gentlemen's & Quad Wheelchair Doubles Final.
The Gentlemen's Singles taking place on Sunday, 12 July, not before 4pm. We'll also get the Ladies' Doubles Final; Gentlemen's and Quad Wheelchair Singles Finals; and Ladies' Wheelchair Doubles Final.
The official order of play won't be confirmed until the evening before each finals day. But Wimbledon follows a very consistent pattern, so the likely schedule is 2pm Saturday for the Gentlemen's Doubles Final followed by the Ladies' Singles Final afterwards.
Sunday follows a similar pattern, with the Ladies' Doubles Final with the Gentlemen's Singles Final.

Wimbledon prize money for 2026
The prize money at Wimbledon 2026 differs depending on what competition you're playing in.
The Gentlemen's Singles and Ladies' Singles have an equal pot, with a cool £3.6 million for the winner of both competitions. This has been standard practice since 2007; before this the men's singles game had a greater prize pot.
Likewise, the pot is equal for the Gentlemen's Doubles and Ladies' Doubles coming in at £760,000 per pair. The Mixed Doubles prize pot is £148,000 per pair.
Both of these pots are a 10 percent increase on prize money in 2025.
Overall, the prize pot for all of Wimbledon's monies in 2026 stands at £64.2 million. This is up from £53.5 million 2025.
"Prize money for 2026 is on average 22% higher across the singles draws compared to last year," the Lawn Tennis Association says.
