Instagram users are flooding to social media in confusion over 'glitching' issues on their app.

If you needed a sign you use Instagram too much and need to take measures to stop your scrolling addiction and actually get outside to enjoy life and the real world around you, this is probably it.

It's a friday evening, yet far too many people are flocking to social media - obviously not Instagram - after noticing when they pop onto Instagram for a quick doom-scroll, they're currently unable to see every users' stories properly.

Instead of clicking on friends' stories to see what fun they're out having while you're sat inside with a glass of red wine, already in bed and about to go to sleep - guilty - some Instagrammers are being met with a blank dark screen and arrow sign instead.

Oh and others have reported just having their story 'scrunched' up into a 'lil [...] square'.

And it's not taken long for Instagram users to flood to other sites in outrage.

One X user wrote: "Is anyone else’s instagram glitching the f**k out my stories keep getting f**ked up and everyone else’s stories are just keep being replaced by my posts????????????"

"Is everybody instagram stories acting like that?" another added.

A third commented: "Instagram scaring me cuz why i post a story, delete it cause it's squished, then see three more ppl post exactly what i posted broken a** app."

And it would appear it's an issue which may be affecting Instagram users globally too, with one user taking to X in French to write: "[Translation] damn but instagram down again."

Another tweet translated from Portuguese reads: "The Instagram stories aren't loading, I'm going to have to uninstall it and the rest of the apps and leave my cell phone on silent forever... Damn it."

LADbible has contacted Meta for comment.
