A 'Real Life Squid Game' Is Coming To The UK

A 'Real Life Squid Game' Is Coming To The UK

A 'real life Squid Game experience' is coming to the UK.

The South Korean survival drama is Netflix's biggest ever show and has had audiences gripped around the world.

To massively simplify it, the programme basically sees loads of poor and downtrodden people take part in children's games at the behest of some mysterious elites - if you win, a huge cash prize is up for grabs, if you lose, you die.

Viewers captivated by the brutal drama will have spent plenty of time ruminating on the tactics they would employ during each game and their chances of making it all the way. But now, you can put your money where your mouth is by tackling the 'real-life version'.

Like on the show, contestants will be competing for a cash prize, worth at least £500 ($690) - which is considerably less than was on offer on the show.

The flip side of that though is that you won't get executed if you're eliminated. Risk and reward people, risk and reward.

That said, contestants will have to sign 'medical disclosures' to be sure they are fit to take part in the games that contain a variety of mental and physical challenges.

Organisers Universal Ents have also hired security staff to ensure contestants comply with the rules.

'Squid Game Live' will see up to 40 contestants take on five rounds of intense challenges, some of which are inspired by the show.

Contestants will be provided with a uniform to wear during their experience, and will be fed a 'hearty meal'.

Live actors will also attend the events to add an extra layer of fear and uncertainty to the games, and there will be some live scenes that parody the series.

So, where is this happening then? Well, it wouldn't be very Squid Gamey if they told you that, would it?

Contestants will be picked up by coach from a meeting point in North West England, where they will be taken to a remote location to participate in the challenges.

Creative director, Max Fox, said: "We want to make sure our experiences are safe, but still as riveting as the games seen on the Netflix smash Squid Game, but due to the violent nature of the hit show, we want to be cautious that the events don't attract unstable people.

"This is a pain-free experience. There will be no paintballs, guns or otherwise, but don't be afraid of getting wet.

"We want to make the games as realistic as possible, without the risk of injury. Some of our games you won't have seen before, but there needs to be an element of surprise and mystery so people really don't know what they're letting themselves in for."

The first event will take place on 27 November. To apply, call 01325 777843 or visit the website here.

Entry costs £45 ($62).
