The Killer Clown Trend Is Back
Two boys have told police they were chased by a man dressed as clown who shouted 'run or die', while 'holding a knife'.
The boys said they were out cycling in Joyden's Wood, near Dartford in Kent, when they came across the man who began shouting 'run or die', while holding something that 'looked like a knife'.
When the pair returned home and told the parents, the cops were called and a police car was sent to the area to see if the man could be found.
A spokesperson from Kent Police told the Mirror: "We were called at 6.46pm on September 14 to a report of a person dressed as a clown in Tile Kiln Lane.
"Patrols in the area were advised of the incident but no person matching the description was seen."
The incident has sparked fears there could be a repeat of the bizarre clown trend that hit the UK back in 2016 and then again last autumn.
A number of reports of clowns, often carrying knives or other weapons, were reported back in 2016, prompting police in Manchester to release a statement warning people what to do if they should see one.
Assistant Chief Constable Catherine Hankinson of Greater Manchester Police told The Sun Online: "It's important to stress that no-one has been physically harmed and I want to reassure people that we take reports of this nature extremely seriously.
"But if you do see any individuals dressed as clowns, you should try and keep calm and report the incident to authorities."
One man was arrested and slapped with a £90 fine after he was caught dressing up in a black and white clown costume and jumping out and scaring kids.
Conor Jones, who was then 18, was handed a £90 fixed penalty fine after he was reported for scaring school children from St Cenydd Comprehensive School in Caerphilly, South Wales.
Last year, probably prompted by the release of creepy blockbuster It, a whole new bunch of morons decided to don their clown costumes and jump out on people.
In a park in Bristol, a group of young girls said they were taunted by a clown holding some balloons who then began to chase them.
