A woman has realised that her husband that she met at university is actually a boy that she met when she was six years old on holiday in Turkey.
27-year-old Heidi Parker didn't realise that she'd actually met her husband, Ed Savitt, all the way back in 1997 at a holiday resort kids' club.
Years after that chance encounter the pair became friends at the University of Newcastle after Ed tracked her down. Now they're married.
Basically, Ed and Heidi lived in the same uni house, but not at the same time. Ed then tracked down Heidi when he couldn't work out how to use the washing machine to ask for help. Heidi obliged and they became friends.
Heidi admitted that she 'forgot about him' but then was glad to meet up with him again, just for different reasons.
She explained: "He didn't know how to use the washing machine in the student flat.
"And he found a piece of post with my name on, realised I had lived there the year before and decided I could help.
"He Facebooked me asking how the washing machine worked, and I let him know... basically because he was hot."
Heidi is originally from Sheffield and Ed is from London but they both travelled to the North East where they were reunited after all those years.
Heidi said: "We just spotted each other,
"I thought he was gorgeous, I thought he was actually amazing. All I can remember thinking is, 'Wow, he is hot'.
"We got chatting and hit it off pretty much instantly.
"After university I moved to London and a few years later we moved in together, buying a flat in Wandsworth."
After becoming engaged in 2015, the pair were eating a meal with their mothers when one of them made a revelation.
Heidi continued: "Then out of nowhere my mum said, 'When you were on holiday in Turkey and you were little you had a little boyfriend called Ed'.
"She sent me a picture in the post of him and it was my Ed.
"I couldn't believe it... we were all stunned.
"I was astonished when I saw the picture. I just yelled, 'Mum - you know who that is'."
"I was so shocked I actually had to lie down. Ed was amazed too... we couldn't believe it.
"I have no memory of meeting Ed as a child, but from the photos we had been spending an awful lot of time together while we were on holiday.
"He told his parents and they dug out images of him on the same holiday."
They even turned the picture of them together as six-year-olds into their wedding invitations.
They have since married in Derbyshire in 2016, then went on holiday to the Maldives. Heidi concluded: "It was brilliant. We love telling people how me met, twice.
"And recently we have been back to Bodrum to see where we met. It was really exciting to go back to where the miracle began."
