Brit mum jailed in Turkey after 'biggest mistake' celebrating boyfriend's Turkey teeth reveals update on heartbreaking situation

Georgia Harrison is stuck in Turkey after being handed a travel ban

A British mother who is unable to leave Turkey for over six weeks due to a travel ban has provided an update on her situation.

32-year-old Georgia Harrison flew out to Antalya, Turkey with her partner Arron Tighe on 7 May. The trip included a trip to the dentist for Arron, who was fitted with a sparkly pair of veneers.

After getting the pearly whites installed, he and Georgia decided to celebrate the dental work by knocking back some alcoholic drinks.

Unfortunately for Georgia, she made the mistake of mixing alcohol with prescription antipsychotic medicine, which caused her to black out.

When she came to, the glass shower screen in their room at the Lexia Hotel had been shattered.

Panicked, the couple got in a taxi the following day and attempted to head to the airport.

However, they were stopped by police and arrested over the damage caused to the hotel room.

Georgia has since had a travel ban imposed, which has prevented her from leaving Turkey and returning to the UK.

She also faces a £15,000 fine for damage to the hotel room and is currently raising money on GoFundMe so she can pay the bill and fly home to see her 12-year-old daughter.

Providing an update on her situation in an interview with The Sun, Georgia revealed that she feels 'trapped' in the country.

"I've paid my lawyer, paid for hotels, I've paid for my rent back home. I've tried loads of ways to get out but I'm getting nowhere. I'm at a brick wall," she explained.

"I know I've done wrong but it's killing me. I need to get home for my daughter. She rings me and asks when I'm coming home. It's heartbreaking."

Georgia revealed that she's been in contact with the British Embassy in Turkey for advice, with staff telling her they are unable to lift the travel ban.

The mum revealed that she'd even attempted to flee on a boat to Greece in a desperate attempt to get home to her daughter, however she was stopped at passport checks.

"I can't afford to keep living here. I've sat in silence for more than six weeks but I've suffered and nothing's changing," she added.

Georgia also claimed that her lawyer has sent a surveyor to assess the damage made to the hotel room, saying they believe a new shower screen shouldn't cost any more than '£1000' and 'that's with labour.'

"It’s driving me insane, I feel like I have got no way out of here," she told MailOnline.

"I know I did wrong and I regret being so stupid to have damaged the hotel, but I need to get home to my daughter. I just feel so weak and I’m getting nowhere, it’s killing me."
